Import management

Certification check

If the importing country requires a certain certification standard for the product you want to buy, we follow the whole process, from the applicable regulations to the issue of the certificate by the accredited laboratory.

The mark that certifies the product complies with the applicable EC directives

Regulations

CE marking

When importing from non-EU countries, many products sold must comply with one or more EU directives. CE marking is a conformity mark certifying that the item meets all applicable EC directives for the product. Some directives regulate substances, others energy efficiency and electrical safety.

Selling non-compliant goods in the European Union is illegal and can lead to seizure of the products and severe penalties, assuming the goods get through customs in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

What to know about compliance

01

Who is responsible?

When products are made outside the European Union, the importer is responsible for guaranteeing CE compliance.

02

Which products?

Electronic systems, toys, machinery, medical devices and other products covered by the directives.

03

Labelling requirements

The CE mark must be affixed to the product unit, the packaging instructions and the user manual. This is the manufacturer's job; you must provide the supplier with the artwork files, the size and the position of the mark.
